Dr. Manolis Tambouratzis received the Degree (BSc) in “Electronics” in 2011, from the Department of Electronics of the School of Technological Applications of the Technological Educational Institute of Crete, carrying out his Internship at the Technical Department of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization. In 2017, he obtained a Master’s Degree (MSc) in “Wireless Communication Systems” from the School of Natural & Applied Sciences of the Open University of Cyprus (OUC). In 2023, he received the 5-Year Diploma (MEng) in “Electronic Engineering” from the Department of Electronic Engineering, School of Engineering at Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), after successfully participating in the qualifying exams and was declared the first chronological graduate of the newly established Department, as an evolution of the former Technological Educational Institute of Crete. Since 2018, he has been a doctoral candidate (PhDc) at the Department of Information & Communication Systems Engineering, School of Engineering, University of the Aegean (UoA) with the research subject “Study Design & Implementation of Electronic Devices for Measurement Applications, Interference Rejection & Efficient Energy Harvesting from Electromagnetic Fields”. This thesis received a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y) within the framework of the action “MIS-5113934” and was successfully completed with its public presentation in November 2023, receiving a unanimous “Excellent” rating. He was declared as Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of the Aegean on 31.01.2024. In July 2025, he also received a Master’s Degree (MSc) in “Informatics & Multimedia” (Network Engineering) from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE), School of Engineering, Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU). Since the Spring Semester of the Academic Year 2023-24, he has undertaken the independent teaching of the Theoretical & Laboratory part of the courses “Electromagnetic Compatibility – EMC” (Spring Sem.), “Television Systems” (Spring Sem.), “Electromagnetic Field II” (Winter Sem.) and “Optical Communications” (Winter Sem.) within the framework of the action “Academic Teaching Experience to Young Scientists with PhDs at the Hellenic Mediterranean University” (MIS 6003253, MIS 6017331) for the ECE Department, initially as an Adjunct Lecturer and from January 2026 as Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP) of the “Telecommunications & Information Technology Sector” of the same Department (FEK 4934/issue 3/19-12-2025). Since the Spring Semester of 2026, he has been teaching the postgraduate course “Advanced Topics in Antennas, Electromagnetic Field Propagation and Wireless Networks” of the Postgraduate Program in “Informatics Engineering” of the School of Engineering in Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU). He is a member of the Laboratory of Non-Ionizing Radiation Measurements (EMIA) Research Group, as a Postdoctoral Researcher with Research Subject “Real-Time Monitoring of ELF Exposure on Public Electricity Power Network – “ReTiMnoN””, while he has joined the University Center for Research and Innovation (P.A.K.E.K – “Institute of Energy, Environment and Climate Change”) of the same Institution. He is a member of the expert committee of the National Authority of Higher Education (ATHAE), responsible for assessing and evaluating the sustainability of the Postgraduate Studies Programs of Universities in the broader subject of “Electrical/Electronic Engineering” across the Greek territory. He holds a professional license as a “RadioElectronics Engineer A”, he is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) and also in scientific organizations IEEE, EAEEIE, FITCE, EPY, EPE, and ETPE. His research interests include Radio Frequency (RF) Electronics, Antenna Technology & Propagation, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Electromagnetic Field Measurements via Internet of Things (IoT) Technologies, Wireless RadioLinks and Satellite/Mobile Telecommunications Networks, Microwave Technology and Optical Telecommunications Systems.
